As Hollywood is gearing up for the highly anticipated, Clint Eastwood directed movie ‘American Sniper’, Cairo-born American actor Ayman Samman (www.aymansamman.com), who stars alongside the Oscar-nominated Bradley Cooper, is having his own American dream come true.
The action film, which is being released on Christmas Day in the U.S, stars Bradley Cooper as Chris Kyle, the most lethal Navy S.E.A.L sniper in U.S. military history. The movie, based on the New York best seller, follows Chris Kyle (Bradley Cooper) as he recounts his real life tragic story and includes more than 150 confirmed kills. Ayman Samman, who originally shot to fame as a young musician in Egypt, plays an Iraqi Father who provides a critical plot twist for Bradley Cooper’s character Chris Kyle and his team.
“The whole experience of working with the legendary Clint Eastwood was a real life lesson on how to create a collaborative and safe environment for actors to shine through. He is truly an actor’s director.” said Samman.
“Most of my scenes in the movie are shared with Bradley Cooper, who is such a generous and dedicated actor. He worked very hard to give Chris Kyle the tribute he truly deserves. A couple of our scenes required us to execute some very complicated physical moves and Bradley was exceptionally conscious in making sure they were executed as safely and authentically as possible.”
Growing up in Cairo Ayman Samman watched classic Clint Eastwood spaghetti westerns like ‘The Good the Bad and the Ugly’ and ‘For a Few Dollars More’. Like most young actors he dreamed of Hollywood and the opportunity to meet Eastwood. He could never have imagined that one day he would claim a major plot part in a movie directed by the legendary star. Samman finally made the move to America in his late 20’s to pursue those early dreams. Initially he toured with his indie rock band The Emerald Lizards but finally settled with acting and stand-up comedy.
Through his role in ‘American Sniper’ Ayman Samman is living his own American dream. Heis an inspiration and role model to the younger generation of his homeland. Ayman Samman is the purest of examples that no dream is ever too big to manifest. He believes that if you truly believe in something and take real steps towards it, it’s bound to come to fruition.
