Actress Katherine Castro Attends Irvine International Film Festival Awards Ceremony
Los Angeles, CA (January 17th, 2014) – Dominican Republic actress Katherine Castro (www.katherinecastro.com) presented three awards last night at the 3rd Annual Irvine International Film Festival (www.irvinefilmfest.com) during the closing awards ceremony, after the festivals successful seven day run at the Laguna Hills Cinema in Laguna Hills, California with 15 Academy Award-winning possibilities.
During the seven days the festival featured 70 films, many of which were Oscar contenders, including two documentaries ‘The Act of Killing’ and ‘Lion Ark’, and was well attended by independent filmmakers from around the world.
The star studded evening, which was attended by the worlds media, featured Academy Award-winning Director John G. Avildsen (‘Rocky’, ‘The Karate Kid’), pictured below with Ms. Castro, accepting the IIFF Lifetime Achievement Award as a Director.
Actor Ed Asner, winner of seven EMMY Awards accepted the IIFF Lifetime Achievement Award as an actor and teen star Caroline Sunshine accepted the Emerging Teen Actor Award during the IIFF Awards Show.
