Celebrities and guests joined in on the laughter for a night of ‘Kidz 4 Kidz’ Comedy For A Cause to benefit ‘Make A Film Foundation’ showing that laughter really is the best medicine!
Produced by Tamika Lamison and Debi Hughes, Make A Film Foundation (MAFF) rolled out the red carpet, hosted by the enchanting Dominican Republic actress Katherine Castro, last night all in aid of benefitting children with filmmaking dreams that suffer from life threatening medical conditions. The main event, presented by television host and personality Quddus, starred late-night regular Wendy Liebman, stand-up comic Kerri Pomarolli, along with Zach Cumer (‘iCarly’), Miranda May (‘The Heartbreak Kid’), and musical performances by Greg Scott & Olivia Faye and very special guest appearances by Jackson Rathbone (‘The Twilight Saga’), Kaitlin Doubleday (HBO’s ‘Hung’) and recording artist Abraham McDonald as well as many other celebrities.
MAFF teams children, who have serious medical challenges with film industry professionals to help them create short film legacies. We grant these children their film dreams. These children get to write and star in their own movie with the help of noted actors, writers and directors.
Our most recent movie was written by 15 year old Rina Goldberg, adapted by Diablo Cody (‘Juno’), directed by Jon Poll (‘Charlie Bartlett’) and starred Bailee Madison (‘Parental Guidance’), Hailee Steinfeld (‘True Grit’) and Jackson Rathbone (‘Twilight’).
